Ask your Senators to support critical development assistance
Within the next 2 weeks the U.S. Senate is poised to slash billions of dollars from President Bush's plan to fight AIDS and poverty. This is an outrage - and it can be stopped. Senators Mike DeWine (R-OH), Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Rick Santorum (R-PA) and Richard Durbin (D-IL) have written a letter to their colleagues in the Senate asking them to stop these devastating cuts in funding for the fight against AIDS and extreme poverty.
With just 30 seconds of your time, you can send a quick note to your Senators asking them to support this funding and add their signature to this important letter. Please join us in speaking out right now."

There is really a basic philosophical difference here.
This letter suggests that the United States government should command its taxpayers to donate funds towards these devastating problems in Africa etc.
This is not and has never been part of the mission of the government of the USA. The ONE campaign is off-base when it tries to use what are really failed socialist/marxist methods to achieve its goals.
Once again, ASK PRIVATE AMERICANS to donate to stop poverty. Do not STEAL THEIR TAX DOLLARS without their consent to accomplish these goals.
Americans are the most generous people on the planet. You don't have to compel them by force, they will gladly give freely.
