US Based Health Group To Develop First Class Cancer Center In Africa - Yahoo! News: "(PRWEB) - New York, NY (PRWEB) January 28, 2006 -- As the effort to attract foreign investments and improve Africa’s infrastructure continues, there are signs of subtle but steady gains. However, analysis reveals that poor quality health care and restricted access, especially amongst low to middle income population is responsible for high cancer mortality in Africa. Quite often, affluent patients resort to seeking medical care abroad, at a very high financial burden to their families and the local economy.

To this end, New Era Capital Corp, has been retained as Strategic Financial Advisors by The American Hospitals and Resorts Ltd/Cancer-Q ( www.CancerQ.com ) to help conduct feasibility study and develop a comprehensive framework for establishing the first specialized oncology (cancer) treatment and rehabilitation complex in sub-Sahara Africa (outside of South Africa). ...
he complex will be located in a 10-acre plot, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in Lagos, Nigeria. The venture will be executed in conjunction with other equity investors and financial institutions in three phases at a total cost of $40 million beginning second half of 2006. Camp Sinai Complex would encompass an oncology (cancer) in/out-patient unit, patient wards, and chemotherapy/ rehabilitation center with state-of-the-art equipments.
